Jakarta, KompasOtomotif — Honda Mobilio berhasil menyabet predikat "Car of the Year Otomotif Award 2014", di Jakarta, Kamis (27/3/2014). Kendaraan multiguna (MPV) bawah ini berhasil mengalahkan 79 nomine lain dari berbagai merek dan segmen yang dipasarkan di Indonesia.
"Kami mengucap terima kasih atas penghargaan ini. Mobilio merupakan produk yang pertama diciptakan Honda khusus untuk Indonesia, dan penghargaan ini menjadi bukti sukses kami," jelas Tomoki Uchida, Presiden Direktur PT Honda Prospect Motor (HPM), di Theater Kecil, Jakarta Pusat.
Meski baru resmi diluncurkan pada Februari 2014, tetapi proses pengenalan sudah dilakukan di ajang Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS), September 2013. Jumlah pemesan yang masuk juga sudah besar, diklaim mencapai 20.000 unit.
Di segmen yang sama, Mobilio bersaing dengan produk terlaris Toyota Avanza, juga Daihatsu Xenia, Suzuki Ertiga, dan Chevrolet Spin, yang sudah lebih dulu dipasarkan. "Salah satu keunggulan Mobilio yang tidak dimiliki kompetitor adalah teknologi transmisi CVT," lanjut Uchida.
Sementara itu, dari kategori sepeda motor, Kawasaki Ninja250 injeksi berhasil menyabet predikat "Bike of The Year Otomotif Award 2014".
